1/8 + tsp of Red Sweet Williams seeds up for auction, (see pictures) This is showy annual with dark-green, grass-like foliage has single, mixed color flowers from early June until late fall. Jefferson planted China Pinks along his winding flower border in 1807 along with Sweet Williams and Carnations. Although its fringed petals resemble the perennial grass pink, a soft fragrance.that carries through the breeze.
Best sown indoors and transplanted to the garden in spring. Cover seed lightly; needs light to germinate. Plant in well-drained garden loam. Grows eight inches tall.(last year mine was almost 2' tall, & they will spread out. Loves full sun. but tolerate part shade.This pictures were taken towards the end of summer (early October, before these pics,, in June, July, 7 August~ the heads were full and lush.
