there is a marking in it, however it is worn off for the most part. It also has 3 little stones at the point of each point closest to the the stone. so like 24 little diamond looking stones also, with a few missing. I did not even notice it had stones until you asked me about the markings. :) It is a very old ring though.
Gold plated looks to me as far as old I know I have had it in a bag of jewelry for at least 15 years and it looks worn so. The style looks even older. But, I am no expert in this matter and I wish it had a marking I could read. I used to go garage sale n years ago and I would pick up all kinds of old & costume jewelry and then make boxes covered in trinkets and stones. Well when I quit I just took all the stuff and boxed it up. So I really do not even have a history beyond that about the ring. Sorry.
No thats ok its just that Im usually not attracted to adjustable rings as they come across as a little like what I played with as a kid so I hesitate but I really find this ring interesting.Im just trying to figure out how to up grade ithe or if Id be able to soder it to a different ring base. but without knowing the alloy its hard to tell without seeing it in person as to whether or not I can up grade & refurbish it w/out ruining it. Is the stone real amythest?
If you enlarge the picture and where it is laying on its side is right where it adjusts, the band that is on it is soldered on to the base of the ring very neatly. And I don't know if it is real or not I do not have a stone tester.
