when you say amethyst rock, do you ean it's not a cut gem? the picture really needs to be clearer. When you take a pic of jewelry you should do it in the daylight with no flash and with a macro setting. On pretty much every digital camera there is a little icon that appears as a little tulip looking flower, sometimes it's when you rotate through your flash settings but some have it in the menu. That is for clear closeup pics :-)
