yes it does take a sd card but my son has the card that was in there cause i took a video of his football game that he scored his first touchdown. its just a reg sd card though. sorry

i do have a usb cord that goes with it and found the owners manual but my printer is giving me nothing but problems. just go to - DXG digital video camera model 506v - fallow directions from there. guess i will be bidding on some printers lol
