Dukat, Anethum graveolens, is the sweetest of all dills.Direct sow 1/4" deep. Long tap roots do not transplant well. Germinates in 10-14 days. Grows 18" to 24" tall.
Dill rarely has pest or disease problems, but black swallowtail butterfly larvae depend on dill as a food source. So plant extra for the butterflies.
Direct sow a few seed every week, so you will have fresh dill when there cucumbers for pickling. Leafy dill is a butterfly magnet.
