This a vintage Majorette pin dating back to the early 1980's. I know this to be true because I got it when I joined the Majorettes in my community. Basically, Majorettes are now called Baton-twirlers/dancers. In Majorettes we were more structured. We marched in parades with our community's Marching band in parades. We did routines together for performing and solos for competitions. Some of us got to do flag routines, two batons at same time, and yes, the routines where both ends of the baton are on fire and you are twirling and doing tricks while trying not to burn yourself. Today baton twirling is more Dancing and acrobatics. They don't March or have a proper structure requirement that twirling that baton had. It was a great time though and I hope it finds a new home.
