The brooch says in writing
"Remember Pearl Harbour".
It is handmade out of wood by my husband's late Grandmother right after the Pearl Harbour was attacked by the Japanese. It was made in Wyoming where my husband's family was born. She made a few of these for members of the family to remind people of that horrible day and all the lives lost but also for her to remind her family about her brother's who enlisted right after that event to fight, one of her brother's was only 16, he lied on his application and was one of the first soldiers to come across a death camp which changed him forever. It was made around 1941, right after the event. Because it is homemade I do not have anything to prove it's date except for my husband's late Grandmother's words as she told me the story of why and how she made it during that time.
