The listing, Letter~Civil War era~West Lebanon, OH~1864 has ended.
Civil war era personal letter from a woman in Ohio, to her brothers childhood friend in California. Very nice condition in my opinion for being 153 years old. Extremely interesting subject matter. She explains that her brother had drown before he could read their prior correspondence. She also explains that he was writing a letter to him when he died. And also of how he talked of wishing how he had gone west to the gold regions of California with his best friend. This gentleman was writing poetry as well at the time of his death. I hope the photo of the poem is readable. This man never knew he would be immortalised by the internet. Published here, postmortem. His words will live forever now in cyber space. His sister includes a few lines in this letter. Very good if I may say. Also speaks of the MANY young men who frequent his father's house to visit his sister(s). LOLOL. I have tried researching them so I could give this letter to a living relative, to no avail. I thought that would be cool. There are many different names that could be researched contained within, as the author lists many friends and how they are doing. Included will be a separate letter about a trip someone was taking that was delayed due to the Mis'ippi being flooded. Pretty good condition. As always FAST, FREE, SHIPPING! Thanks for looking, and if you choose to bid, Good Luck!
