This is very gently used by my daughter before she could read. The tag pen works with tag books and actually reads the book to your child as it is scanned over it. The video shows what it's like when used. No it does not include the tinkerbell book. You get the three books pictured and the cable and disk. You hook it to the computer for downloading and storing your stories. It also has a rewards system for tracking reading but we never used it.
