The listing, Antique Civil War Coat Uniform Button, Possibly Confederate, Poor Condition has ended.

I got this in a lot of antiques, just as is, with note included. I don't know if it's authentic, but I think it is because of the condition. Hope it goes to a collector who is more knowledgeable and can appreciate it.

Definitely looks authentic. It's a union coat button but may have been used by confederates since their uniforms were pretty much whatever they got their hands on, incl. U.S. issue stuff.
