Event: 350th Anniversary of the Founding of the Flanghinis College. Tomasso Flanghinis, whose roots were in Corfu and Cyprus, funded the creation of a college in Italy, in 1665, to prepare young Greeks to study at the University of Padua and to act as a bridge to the West for Greeks.Today, the building of the College houses the Hellenic Institute for Byzantine and Post-Byzantine Studies.
