To celebrate receiving my Trusted Seller badge, I have up for auction an unbelievably gorgeous pair of antique rhinestone screwback earrings! There are no marks of any sort on these and I couldn't tell you if they are sterling silver or stainless steel. But with prom coming up for a lot of high school students, these earrings would be sure to sparkle up any girl's look.

From an age when glamour was REAL and ladies dressed to just go to the grocery store, these earrings are special and deserve a special home. Thus the reason I'm listing them here -- I fully feel as though one of my Listia family members can appreciate them as they should be. :)

Do you know how old they are or any history?

I don't have the first clue as to any history on them. I can tell you that when I purchased them, I was told that they were from the mid 1920's. I paid a pretty good sum for them, but I couldn't tell you based on the earrings along, any history. Sorry!

My daughter is going to prom in a very vintage style dress like Rose wore in the movie Titanic. Do you think these might be worn in the hair if attached with hairpins. They match her dress and the era is perfect. The dress has a sweetheart neckline and she has a black choker with a rhinestone brooch attached but very small. These are beautiful but to heavy for her to wear on her ears. She is a size 2. ~Jenn

I don't see why she couldn't wear them in her hair. But as far as being too heavy, they are actually incredibly light. Now, if she doesn't like pressure on her ears, she'd have to wear them in her hair, definitely. Good luck!
