The listing, State of Oman postage stamps sheet of 8 has ended.
I am a stamp collector, but only have interest in US stamps. I've had these for decades but I don't know why I have them or where I got them from
I found this description online. I have no idea if it is accurate, but it seemed to be a solid description.
"Here is a sheet of 8 stamps from the State of Oman showing fish, including:
Char
Lamprey
Sewen
Short- Headed Salmon
Common Trout
Black Finned Trout
Lochleven Trout
Galway Sea Trout
Stamps from Dhufar and the State of Oman were issued by exiled Imam Ghalib bin Ali al-Hinai's Oman Imamate State, a rebel group against the Sultanate of Oman. The exiled government was attepting to establish an independent area in the north of Oman, and printing their own postage stamps would reinforce their independence. Although very few of their stamps were used postally (those that were can be quite valuable), many, many different issues were printed as collectors items especially for topical collectors. In fact, most sheets (as is common with CTOs) had the cancellations printed during the lithograph process and not applied after the stamps were printed. These CTO stamps from many of the middle-eastern Trucial states are now a staple of the topical stamp market."
I don't need them for my collection and want to pass them on to someone who can appreciate them. If there is interest in these, I will list a few others I have.
