The listing, What is it, Coconut? Cool Art Painting? Instrument? You tell me :) has ended.

This unusual beauty is a nice estate find, but what is it? It plays like an instrument (sounds like chimes but with a guitar echo :) It is brightly colored with red, yellows, green circles and a lizard at the top. But wait you turn it around and you can clearly see it is a coconut. Great estate find, I could not pass it up just because its so unusual. Free shipping. Just found out it is called a Kalimba coconut thumb piano :D

lol, Ralphie wanted it pretty bad too :D Best of luck. Ive tried to do some songs on it just by playing by ear and managed to come up with Mary had a little lamb and this old man. It does sound pretty cool and if I knew how to play it I might have kept it, I do love my musical instruments...but I will stick with my guitar I dont know much about this and how to play, but seen some pretty cool videos on it. Best of luck :D

It's a decorated thumb piano, I think. I have one (but unpainted) and it was called that On the box.

It sounds pretty awesome, and although I do not know how to play it with out knowing what is what. I am pretty good by playing by ear and manged to play, knick knack patty whack on it...lol. :D

Gourds are grown here in the USA also and come in many shapes and sizes. This motif looks as if it might come from India.

This is not a gourd its a coconut, you can see the back has the three dark spots like a coconut :)
