Its a washable fabric- on one side its a plastic type product and on the other side is either a netting type fabric or a flannel type fabric. These have netting. They are perfect for outside/picnic tables- seat cushions etc. It depends on your sewing machine but I always use bias tape or paper over the cloth when I sew as the plastic- drags on the sewing feet. I've learned to use it- but at first was very frustrated with it.

Excellent answer! I was about to ask if it needs covering while sewing.
Would they make a good diaper cover? If not, then they'll do as my center tea table on the front porch.

I had so much trouble sewing this- at first- then went on "how to" and they suggested using paper on the slick side so it fed through the machine better- no problems after that. I made some lunch sacks that Martha Stewart had a pattern for- and coasters for the patio- although my lab Loves those!
