No, I had asked if it is worsted weight, sport weight or some other weight. It should say on the label.

This is a 3-ply yarn. It does not say anything else on the label.

Does the label have a recommended needle size?

The label says "Average Knitting Gauge Stockinette Stitch No. 7 Needles 5 sts. = 1" (2.5cm)"

Perfect thanks. I always find recommended gage and needle size more useful than weight anyway. I have a yarn that bills itself as worsted that's knitting up at 6 stitches to the inch on size 5 needles.

Unfortunately, there is no real standard for yarn weights. It's really hard to judge, considering everyone knits differently. My grandmother always called 4-ply yarn worsted weight and 3-ply yarn sport weight. I learned from her, but when I went out to research, I found that the term worsted came from a town in England that manufactured really nice yarn in a particular size. Even using ply's can be misleading.
