Description

The listing, 1 oz $1 Banknote Copper Bar has ended.

Most consumers around the globe today are familiar with the design and appearance of the United States dollar, in both its $1 form and various other denominations. As familiar as American currency is today, its former banknotes remain a footnote of history to many. Now’s your chance to own a replica of America’s former currency in the form of a 1 oz $1 Banknote Copper Bar, in brand-new condition from JM Bullion.

Bar Highlights:

Contains 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure copper.
Primary design based upon the 1899 $1 Black Eagle silver certificate from the United States Mint.
Reverse features a replica of the nation’s original $1 bill.
Privately minted in the United States of America.
Known officially as the 1899 One Dollar Silver Certificate, the Black Eagle was the popular name for this one-dollar certificate from the United States Mint. The original certificates were printed by the Mint from 1899 to the early 1920s, with its replacement by a new note design completed in 1923.

The Black Eagle was the second most common large-size note from the US Mint, and featured the “Eagle of the Capitol” design offering shelter to portrayals of President’s Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant. Roughly 3.2 billion notes were printed while the Black Eagle was in circulation.

On the reverse you’ll find the design used on the original $1 bill certificates issued by the United States Mint. The design is a simple one that features the certificate’s value as both “One” and “1.” Above the central design is the engraving “Silver Certificate,” while “United States of America” is featured below.

Each of these 1 oz copper bars is engraved in the United States at a private minting facility, and capitalizes on the increasing value of copper in an extremely unique fashion.
