The listing, Pregnant Onion Plant (Baby Bulbs) has ended.
Product Description : This interesting bulbous plant is native to South America and looks very similar to an onion. Unlike an onion however, the bulb grows above ground, reaching up to four inches in diameter. The leaves of the Pregnant Onion Plant (Ornithogalum caudatum) are long and strap-like, semi-succulent, and will reach up to 36 inches in length. This plant is also known as the False Sea Onion. New bublets that form under the 'skin' of the mother plant. Small white flowers usually appear from May to August. 50 to 100 flowers may adorn each stalk. Pregnant Onion Plant is an easy plant to grow and is perfect for containers. They require light shade to full sun with well-drained soil. Water when the soil is dry. This is a plant you will have forever! This is pictures of mine. It has survived a 15 foot drop a few years ago. I have had this since 2004. I just topped mine off since its winter and indoors. You can pull off the old skin to see new growth and drop babies/new bulbs. I just added some fresh potting soil to my plant also , so you can't see the abundance of baby bulbs this things spits out.
