i think this is a very interresting action. i was reading what everybody wrote.and it sounded like a soap opra. i was laughing. i think i'll watch this and see what happens i have 15000 creadits to bid on this.
I am seriously interested in this can you take a better picture of the screen with it turned on the glare from the light and the fingerprints make it impossibl to see I don't want to get burned on another computer thanks
@ZARIAH2006, whoever you talked to at Best Buy is an idiot. You should stay away from there. A BIOS password has nothing to do with the operating system. You could swap between two hard drives, one with Windows and one with Ubuntu (Linux), and the BIOS password would still be there. The BIOS is installed to the motherboard. An OS is installed to the hard drive.
oh come on people i have read the same thing over and over on this give the man a break he is correct if it has a password on it you can NOT get passed the password screen. However if you know computers it is just like a tower pc and doesnt take much to remove the password through hardware. i rebuild computers for a living andif you use software like ultimate boot you will mess up the computer.
@innissdavid, no, it can be fixed. Just remove back (anywhere from 2 to 12 screws depending on model) and pop out the button battery for an hour. Everything in the BIOS will reset. Then download mobo drivers from manufacturer website or run a free program like SlimDrivers to reinstall everything. Be up and running in no time.
FYI. All drivers are here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2439385&rpn=PSLY5U&modelFilter=L455D-S5976&selCategory=2756709&selFamily=1073768663
TechBoy Media here it is a BIOS password all you need to do is 1) reset the BIOS or 2) go download Ultimate Boot CD and run BIOS password reset You can download it here www.ultimatebootcd.com/
