The listing, Vintage Very Old Collectible1930's Era Brass Purse Handbag Clutch has ended.

Here is a very unique 1930 era vintage solid brass clam shell shaped clutch purse handbag. This has a chain shoulder strap attached by 2 hinged holders, it has a deep purple velvet lining. The chain strap is 20" long from the hinge to the middle of the strap,making it a total length of 40", from one side to the other. The clutch is 7" x 4". The handbag is tarnished in places as you can see in the pics, as well as the strap having some tarnish on it as well. This is a VERY old handbag, so it cannot be expected to be in perfect condiiton.

I have been told that this was from about 1936 or so.

This was part of my Grandfathers collection we cleared from his basement, this particluar piece belonged to my Grandmother, who would have been 96 years old if she were still with us.

The inside lining is in good shape, there are no holes or stains. The clasp to keep the purse closed is missing.
This is a really neat piece of history!

I was going to ship this by Priority Mail, but, I checked with the Post office and since it does not weigh over 13 oz then yes I can ship it cheaper by First Class, so whoever wins this item will have thier choice to have it shipped for $5.00 by Priority or by First Class for $2.90, Thank you :)

The purse has a clasp that keeps it closed, that broke off, and I am in the process of trying to find it so that I can include it with the purse. It does stay shut SOME of the time when it is closed, but it will pop open eventually, if say you are walking with it, and moving with it thats when it will pop open, if you are hanging it to display it, then it should stay closed while on display. Thank you
