There is a button for on/off, to sound an alarm, and one to play different music sounds. It's not like a radio or hooking up to your mps player. It's just when you press the button and plays a few different musical sounds. TY for the good question!

Yes, it is pretty neat! I decided to take the advice of a previous comment and wake the whole house up this morning. It was hilarious....even though they didn't think so. lol So, that answers the question before a little. I can't really explain how loud 10 watts is, .....but believe me...it's loud. lol
