Im not a technition nor do i work for Amazon..i bought this for my son with the firestick,,the instructions say its a firestick game controller,,i dont even know what Chromecast is and no i dont need amazon prime,,,and you can jailbreak it from you tube,,thats how we jail broke mine,, you might want to ask Amazon the Amazon questions,,,,thanks for interest,

Oh yeah it connects to the remote thru WIFI then you use contoller instead of remote. ..sorry for my confusion. I'm 60 and never used this stuff. .lol
