This is probably the most widely grown green bean. Known for its abundance of smooth, round, meaty pods, this snap bean is delicious fresh and also great for canning and freezing. Available in both bush and pole types. Bush has small, self-supporting plants, while pole types grow on tall, vigorous vines.
Sowing: Sow seeds in a sunny location when all danger of frost is past. Plant in loose, fertile soil, and moisten. Successive plantings can be made every 3 weeks.
Care: Water regularly and fertilize when 3" (7.5cm) tall. Thin seedlings to 6" (15cm) apart.
