Description

The listing, Vintage Marx Tin Train NYC Caboose has ended.

Marx stamped steel/tin lithographed train car aprox 6x3". Made in USA. This New York Central Caboose 556 would make a cool display or decorator piece for a boys room, a christmas display, or perhaps as an antique store or vintage toy store window piece. These trains were popular items produced and sold by Marx Toys during the Great Depression all the way to the early 1950s. If you ever watched The Christmas Story, this looks just like an item Ralphie and his friends would stare at through the window of Higbees Dept Store. Some dirt, paint loss, surface scratches/scuffs with wavyness. This item is missing its wheels and couplers, sold AS-IS for parts or display purposes. Will ship in a small flat rate priority mail box or come by and pick it up for free. 2 trains will fit in 1 small flat rate box, so I will combine every 2 for 1 to save you money on shipping. Be sure to check out other auction offerings from the Village. Thanks and happy bidding!

thanks, I have 4 train cars that I am listing. Will combine 2 in 1 small flat rate box to save on shipping. If you win 3 or 4, may put them all in 1 medium flat rate box if that works out cheaper than 2 smalls. I f&w you as well. :)

These were the trains that the working man would hope to give their kids during the depression and war period. Lionel electric trains were just out of the budget for many during this time, so Marx came up with a simple and inexpensive wind up train set and sold extra cars over the counter. They proved very popular and continued producing and selling them virtually unchanged for many years. Thanks for F&W, and happy bidding! : )

yes, I have 4 train cars that I am listing. Will combine 2 in 1 small flat rate box to save on your shipping costs. In other words, you pay only 1 shipping fee of $5.35 for 2 train cars. If you win 3 or 4, may put them all in 1 medium flat rate box if that works out cheaper than 2 smalls.
