Myke, OldDogEyes may have offered you 50000 credits but he can't make an offer like that when you have it up for auction. Someone would have to bid up that high in order for him to give you the 50000 credits. He can't just give you 50000 credits. He was scamming you. Also, if he told you he is selling $2 bills like that he is pulling your leg. He is trying to scam you big time because you are new here. HE was trying to take advantage of you. You will find that we are honest here. The bids will keep on climbing as long as people keep on bidding. I for one will keep on bidding. This is a very sentimental item to me. My dad fought in that war and I want this to pass on to my grandchildren. I have been doing my family tree and family history and these things are important to me. They are NOT easy to come by so I try to get things like this when I can.
Thank you to my friends who talked to Myke for me and explained to him that I am not a scammer. Myke was just a bit confused and if you EVER need help in understanding how things work on here, please feel free to come to me for help. I will be glad to answer any questions and to offer advice if you want me to.

hi myke187 awesome auction... i know ur new to Listia so first off a very warm welcome to this site... i'm addicted and love it... i have a question tho... why are u not letting people bid high on this.. i have a friend u blocked becuz she bid 10,000 credits... that's good for u i'm not sure if u understand how this works... u bid and bid and bid till the highest bidder by the end of ur auction which is in 4 days... this person is trying to get this hawaiian note so is bidding high so she can get it and u'll benefit from it cuz ur credits r gonna be huge by the end of the auction... if u could unblock her so she can keep bidding on this for u to get huge huge credits and not depend on just one person to win... i know someone has offered u something high for this but this could go even higher than that... if u let this person back in to bid this could be an awesome auction for u and it being one of ur first ones ... i only got 1,000 credits on my first auction...lol but u live and learn... this lady wants u to put her back on so she can bid legally and binding and believe me u'll benefit by it big time....and just to let u know she only bid the 10,000 credits to get higher and to be top bidder for now... that doesn't mean that's ALL she's gonna bid... she's gonna keep bidding and bidding to be on top so it's really gonna be HUGE FOR U MYKE trust me... i've been on here for a while and u still have 4 days left and this really could go up to a huge amount if u let her back in to bid and bid like she wants to... thanx for listening to me i appreciate it God Bless and good luck on this... u'r gonna be one lucky person with tons of credits xoxo Legend Debi

Myke, I am willing to help you with any advice you might need. Feel free to ask me any time you have a question. I have been here for quite a while now and have had several dealings with people that have given me experiences that gave me knowledge on how to deal with issues that might come up, so if you have questions, I'll be happy to help you out. That includes how to list items. Sometimes listing items the wrong way can also get you into trouble. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see anything that looks wrong if you want me to. Just let me know. I DID fan you, by the way so I hope you'll fan me back.

A few thoughts... first off, very nice auction as I said above! For those who don't know, Hawaii Notes were issued during World War II as emergency currency. More details here: http://bit.ly/FOXqD6

Second, star notes are not error in and of themselves, they are ERROR REPLACEMENT notes. When dollar bills are found to have printing errors upon inspection (before being sent to a bank), they are destroyed and an equal number of star notes are inserted into the currency order. They are also collectible. Details here: http://bit.ly/AbxGaI

I really want to win this, but am afraid of how high it might go.

I already have a decent PxxxxxxxxC Hawaii note, but not an SC like is offered here...

i did know they used these in the pearl harbor war and usa got scared that japan was going to take our money over and if they did the hawaiis would be real recognizable...thats what i heard from my friend....i prob will post another hawaii note just not sure yet.
hope you do good on your auction too.

Very nice bill here! Just a comment here, too. I refuse to BUY credits from Listia. I just get rid of stuff I have a lot of duplicates of like my stamps, and that is how a lot of us get our credits. It is cheaper than buying them. Listia charges too much in my opinion, because like you said, go to post office, post stamps and bam 4000 easy credits. I dont think thats scamming though, that is just being smart enough to NOT BUY YOUR CREDITS.
FANNED YOU, BUT NO WAY I HAVE ENOUGH CREDITS TO COMPETE!

Myke, I am not saying that you are complaining, I am saying that I am not trying to scam you. I play honest here. I KNOW there are people here who try to scam. I am not sure I understand what you are saying about all of those figures you are coming up with because I don't understand the scam games. I guess that's because I am not a scammer. If you go and look at my previous auctions you will see that I have NEVER given away anything that was even close to scamming stuff if that's what you use for scamming. I don't know how it works. I think you have figured out who the scammers are and what they are up to. I don't blame you for being skeptical of some people, but don't be too hasty about Listia either because there are more honest people then there are scammers. That's all I am trying to say. People bid high usually because they want the item. Especially when it comes to items like this. This means a lot to me and I will bid as high as I can to win.
*Also... Be sure to use a delivery confirmation number when you send it, because THAT is where you might find people will try to scam. They will claim they didn't get it just to get their credits back from you and they will have you item too, so when you mail anything, USE DELIVERY CONFIRMATION SO YOU CAN TRACK IT. I was scammed that way once and fortunately it was a small item that wasn't a lot of credits but I make sure I use delivery confirmation every time I mail an item now. It is only an extra 80 cents but it is worth it. That is for YOUR PROTECTION as well as the buyer's protection. Just a little helpful hint for you when you mail so you don't lose your credits. It ensures your delivery of the item.

myke187; i thought the star note you had up had a offset number on it(must be a different auction i seen)still alittle rare, they don't make them as far as i know anymore.legal tender.
but like i said to you before on the brown seal, people use online sites to get WHAT IT MIGHT BE WORTH;sorry i use a buyer/sellers guide(hard copy)that have been in the bussiness alot longer then the internet was made.these guides are used by pawn shops and collectors,my personal fav. is SCOTT and have been serving collectors since 1863,so who are you gonna believe,a new system or company that's been doing for for over 100+ years.i myself have been doing this since the 70's,value is set on mostly on who wants it,how many were printed and condition+(in some cases) error prints.Even newer minted stuff have errors that were not caught before released. And myke i have been 100% honest with you on my thoughts of your bills, wouldn't do any trade deals(plus you have it posted and and bids are in,risky move on $2 bills, most are a dime a dozen bills so to speak, you can still walk into a bank and get a stack of $2bills to this day(may find a nice one worth more then face value)YOU CAN'T GET A STACK OF SILVER CERT. BILLS AT THE BANK.

your right....and it is true what you say. i think you know what your talkn 'bout.
i know about these bills.....i know they were used during ww2....and i do got more star notes that r worth more credits than what i had on here the otherday....and i did maile out those two starnotes the otherday to the winner.
bob you know your money.

old dog eyes jucked the bid up so no 1 will bid......my screen says highest bid 10,000......old dog eyes offered me 100,000 in chips for this hawaii note.....you people around here take advantage of others...........listis sells 40$ for 8000 credits...ok olddog eyes buys 100$ in 2 dollarbills from a bank and lots them at 5 for 50,000 credits.....do the math....olddog gets 500,000 credits after all said and done for 100$....this place is gay. im out peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you guys tell me i got good stuff....and my hawaii says 10,000 highest bid and isnt moveing.....you guys take advantage of the weak. you prob. work at flea markets and buy stuff cheap on here and resell it. im not interested in doing bussiness here if im getting treated like im a dumb person. 500,000 credits for 100$ is what listia should do bcuz oldog eyes is doing it.

Just wanted to say that Myke and I had a mis-understanding. I haven't done anything to mess up this auction and I full expect to be outbid before the auction is over.

For those of you who are new to Listia or never understood how the bidding system works, here is a quick rundown...

Listia, like eBay, works off of a proxy bidding system. If an auction opens at 100 credits and I bid 1,000 credits, the high bid at that moment is 100 credits. If someone comes along and bids 500 credits, they will instantly be outbid and the new high bid will be 505 credits, etc. The high bidder will not change until someone bids MORE than 1000 credits.

So a smart way to bid is to decide how much you're willing to pay and bid that full amount once. That way you don't have to worry about coming back to bid right at the end... If you gave your best and final bid.

So to close, if your best and final bid is 10,000 credits but the next highest bid is only 7,500, you'll end up paying 7,575 for the item... not the full 10,000 ...

Make sense?
