This a Safe Mouse that has a 4 Gig USB drive built in. It was a security key lock built-in. The USB drive won't show up unless the proper key is entered on the mouse. Once unlock the computer will see the drive. It has a utility app on the mouse that you can change the encryption anytime. I bought for a IT consulting job that never happened. Retailed over $60 at the time I bought it and it is no longer made. The bottom has a popup cord winder ring and goes in when the cord is unraveled.

the second line says-- it was a security lock built-in-- is that a typo or there is no lock and does this come with software?

The mouse has a encryption security lock on the mouse and you must enter the 4 to 7 digit numeric password before the usb drive unlocks. You use the green button and the wheel to enter the key.
