You dont pay by the month. Its one flat fee for the year. I think the the price is $29.99. Yes this is the one that connects to the pc the new version connects to your router instead so the pc doesnt have to run constantly.

Magic jack service is purchased in a package. You get the MJ item and 1 year of service (Local/Long Distance, Caller ID, Voice Mail and emailed voice messages). The features are great and as long as you have a good Broadband connection via cable or DSL this is a very reasonable item to save you money. The new Magic Jack doesn't require a computer so either one you get you'll be saving $.
