yes there big enough for a 4 year old and how you use them it depends on how you fix there hair you can put poneytails in her hair and then clip or slide them on i have a 6year old granddaugther and she wears them you can do two small poney tails in front theres all kind of way to use them im not very good at explaning how to i hope this helps you

i think they would look cute one at each pony tail she has a head full of curls and it is so fine hard to keep held down lol very cute bows i can make bows i just never seem to get around to it easier to bid for them lol
