2015, but it has FREE life time automatic updates when you use the usb plugged into the computer, and on their web site. You can update the garmin as many times as you want there are instructions built in that instruct you on how to use and access all functions on this unit.
VERY EASY TO USE,
ALSO HAS TRAFFIC CONTROL, ALLOWING YOU TO AVOID TRAFFIC THAT HAS AN ACCIDENT OR VERY SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC.

Yes, this shows your speed, & shows the speed limit where you drive. when you go over the satelite speed the speed gauge turns from green to red letting you know you are speeding. there are tons of functions you can choose to have on screen while driving. plus when you get ready to merge off ramp, the screen splits in half showing you up close ramp directions.

the map while driving, will show you points of interest, gas stations and where the next one is, it also shows hospitals, it will also alert you of detours because of construction or accidents reported in the area. it will alert you of the detours, but if you choose, you can ignore them. REMEMBER, WHEN YOU GET THE UNIT, (WHICH WILL BE FULLY CHARGED AND PACKAGED VERY WELL) YOU MUST SET THE PREFERENCES TO YOUR DRIVING AREA. This unit runs of satellite not phone towers.
