In 1901, Memorial Day is first observed and Cadillac Motor company is born. In 1903 Pepsi Cola company forms and Ford sells their first Model T. In 1910, I imagine a few of these nickles went to buying some smokes, as the U.S. tobacco industry produced 9 billion cigarettes that year!
