The listing, *COLLECTIBLE* Error Bill: Overinked S/N *COOL* has ended.
Up for bids: An error bill - Overinked S/N - look at the 8 in the left SN!
Collecting coins and currency is fun & potentially very profitable. Of all the type of collectibles within the currency area, "Error" is one of my favorites. There are a # of different types of "Error" bills. Here is one definition of an "Error" bill:
"A note escaping the printing process into the public that has a flaw of some sort is an error"
Here are a few of the more easily identifiable types of "Error" bills:
3rd Shift Offset - When the 3rd printing, the one where the serial # and seals are applied isn't aligned properly.
Offset Transfer - When the design of a bill bleeds onto another bill. Commonly the obverse (front) design will transfer onto the reverse (back) of another bill or the other way around
Overinking - Too much ink is applied and parts of the design, usually the seals, are missing or obscured
Rolled/Stuck Digits - When one or more digits of either or both S/N's are out of alignment with the others
Serial Mismatch - When the left S/N doesn't match the right S/N. This occured most recently in the 2006 New York Star Notes, Run 3. Left S/N is B067xxxxx* and the right S/N is B267xxxxx*
Underinking - When not enough in is applied and some bill features are faded or missing

*Tip/Trick* I have a lot of listings. If you just want to see my Coin and Currency listings (Numismatic related) search for this keyword: "OldDogEyes_Numis" (quotes are not necessary but won't hurt either)
