how come it says i lose this auction?

because someone has the bid set to a certain number. if you pass them then you will be the highest. for example you bid 150 and then someone comes and puts 500 then the bid will show as 151 or something and everytime you add it will keep telling you that you lose unti you reach over 500. i hope i made it clear.
