It doesn't actually say zippo on it so I have no idea.... It doesn't use the pressurized zippo fluid though, it's one of the older ones w/ the cotton stuff on the bottom that you just pour the liquid into... I put pressurized fluid in the bottom when i FIRST got it last week and after it got real cold an I tried to light it, i almost caught my hand an my face on fire... So it definitely takes just regular lighter fluid... Thanks for looking & good luck!
