Description
The listing, Mac OS X Snow Leopard - Retail Disc, Unopened has ended.
During tomorrow's Snow Leopard launch, I've decided to purchase an extra copy to list on Listia. It is unopened and unused and will come with the shrink-wrap still on it. Learn more about Snow Leopard at: http://www.apple.com/macosx/ Free shipping within the US.
Questions & Comments
How much did it cost? If it was the $29 one, then it's an upgrade. The full one costs over $100
Hahaha I hate you man :P. I'm out on the mac mini and going for the MacBook... I have a wireless Logitech diNovo keyboard on Listia but not a mouse... it says under compatibility that it only works with PCs but a friend of mine uses the exact same one with and iMac and is works great.
Hey guys, FYI- the upgrade is really the standalone system. Apple put it out that way so that if a user ever had to re-install Snow Leopard, they wouldn't have to install Leopard, then re-upgrade to Snow Leopard. Apple also doesn't use serial keys, so they kind of put this out on the honor system.
It is not possible to answer that question in a single post... it's complicated and depends what kind of Windows PC. For example, a PC with compatible hardware (like a Dell Mini 9 or MSI Wind) can be "hackintoshed" to run retail copies of Snow Leopard. Other computers cannot be hackintoshed due to an incompatible processor.
Remember though, that in no cases can you pop in a mac DVD and install it to a PC. It will require a boot agent to launch the Mac Disc image like Boot 123 or a similar method. Check out the OSx86 Project for more info.
Don't quote me on this but I believe it's a solid OS and not just an upgrade...here's why I think that: I bought the same one and wiped my HDD on my MacBook and then installed this. It didn't require me to install over Leopard. Hope this helps.
Just an FYI for everybody: I just installed a different copy I bought on my MacBook Pro Uni-15 and it's noticeably faster. Some cool features in this and hooray - native Exchange support!
