Description
The listing, Snow-in-Summer (Cerastium tomentosum) has ended.
Beautiful silver perennial that was given to me by a friend. It is similar to Dusty Miller but more delicate. It makes sense to use this plant which comes back every year instead of Dusty Miller and it's prettier too. It is a prolific grower and a beautiful contrast plant. It has small white clusters of flowers. It is much prettier than the pics . Pics were taken after Hurricane Irene so that's the reason that it doesn't look as pretty as it is. It is a herbacious flowering plant and a member of the carnation family. It is generally distinguished from other species of it genus by *tomantose" or felty foliage. I is a low, spreading perennial native to alpine regions of Europe. The stems and leaves are silvery-grey whilst the flowers are star-like, white and about 15mm across. Thanks to a fellow Listian, we now have positively identified it.
