Questions & Comments
Is it natural or created? I suppose they wouldn't create a pale alexandrite stone right :)
Yes, it is very rare and quite expensive, it is a pariah in nature, since the elements it needs to exist, beryllium and chromium have opposing chemical properties and are uncommon to exist together, chromium is what gives Alexandrite it's unique traits, but also inhibits it's growth. Just like a diamond, not only is color a factor in determining value, clarity is just as important, followed by cut and carat weight
