you are right about the date on the cuffs...they were made in 1932...and were made by Smith & Wesson and were produced in Springfield, Mass...but were used in basically every prison in the united states in that era and were also used by the law enforcement of that day...

I took your advice and looked up the serial number for the cuffs and they are Police Prison issued cuffs most likely for Alcatraz and can be bought on Ebay.com for $45.00 and come with two keys...but they were not used in the movie Shawshank...or worn by Morgan Freeman...the ones used in the movie were props...not real...

The first prison that was built in Springfield in 1850 they built the newest one in 1950 these handcuffs are from the Springfield prison and these handcuffs are 100% real I looked them up with the model number they only have one key they work still and yes there from 1932

haha,the # for information...which I think you have Very Well provided on these.I wish I had enough credits to get these as this brand of handcuffs is the real deal.The same brand my dad used to carry.Not to mention the age of them and the condition of the teeth.I did not know this old they even double locked!But of course I have never seen any S&W anywhere this old.Fanned and watching(sigh).

These are 1932 S&W handcuffs I did some more research on these they cost $5.00 to have custom made for skinny hands back in 1932 and believe or not they stopped useing these handcuffs in 1998 they used the old one's in the old 1980 prison movie shaweshanke and these were the same one when they had Morgan freemen hanging by his hands in the movie and that's the truth no lie

As you can see these are 100% real not fake there made out of nickel iron they are from 1932 and yes they are from the Springfield prison I looked the handcuffs with the model number the historical value is $150 online so happy bidding
