This is the GameShark2 with built in codes you can use to have cheats in most of the ps2 games, it also works with a ton of codes not built into the disk you can get off the gameshark website and add to your system. Makes some games more fun by adding infinite ammo, life etc etc.

Its awesome, I used to play around with the codes, making little changes to things to experiment and found crazy stuff you could do as well as 1000s of online codes you can put in by hand that other people have tested and added to gameshark

It has no vis scratches that I can see, I dont have a playstation2 now days since I converted to xbox360. It looks like blueray disk since its darkblue/purple on back but, I dont see any scratches on it.

Last time I used it, it worked great but, to be totally honest I havent had a ps2 for a year at least and I can only assume it works. Its been in the same case and in my goodies box along with all my computer games and music and they all work fine.
