I have twins, 24, with Aspburgers. I didn't bid as they no longer live at home and they respond to verbal commands just fine. In fact, they need verbal requests or instructions for sometimes the most basic things, but they are pure genuis, and also, along with their nueronormal brother, the lights of my life. God bless you. I'll say a quick prayer for you and your wonderful son.

My son also responds to verbal commands but may not answer right away or give an answer that makes sense. But I know there are many people who may need one of these.

sorry to hear about your son, i feel the best thing about childern or adults with this, is deep down inside them is a very intelligence person, capable of many wonderful things, and in some cases the person can overcome (or deal with)as they get older.
i couldn't believe the odds of a child being born with AUTISM (like 1 in 88).
my ol'ladies dad has alzheimers and to watch this take a human is horrible.

I am not sure you truly understand about Autism, but no need to Feel sorry for me hun. My son is the light of my life , and is very intelligent. Admittedly he is a higher functioning autistic. Most children with Autism can do many things their peers can , just takes them a little longer to get there. Some are more seriously affected and are not able to do many things, but all the parents on this auction will tell you the same thing " I wouldn't change him for the world"

Hello again, Jessica. TY for the auction. I'm still somewhat autistic, but I answer just fine. I can't handle being yelled or screamed at. That makes me freeze up inside, and is like a glass bubble all around me: I see you and I hear you, but the screaming and yelling at me immobilizes me. I do not understand why it does that to me, all I know, is that it just does.

I have another friend, he is far more autistic than I am. He mostly stays in his own world; but, he is on meds that help keep him calm, and he speaks back with a smile now, when he is spoken to. He speaks very softly to you, now. Long ago, he used to not respond to you or the outside world. Sometimes, he used to make grating or growling noises and it would scare people. It was always something irritating him in HIS world. When he was doing that, he was never unapproachable. He's made super-great strides socially, since then. However, he does have to live in a group home, unfortunately.

I'm wondering if anyone watches the tv show, "Hardcore Pawn"? The tv show that has American Pawn, Jewelry and Loans. The owner is Les, and then his two adult kids, Ashley (a girl), and Seth (Les's son). They can get into some of the stupidest arguments!!! And sometimes, really bad situations with customers, and on occasion, sometimes other employees.

I love watching that show! LOL, because knowing how I am with Asperger's syndrome, with autism, and wide mood disorder. Mine also comes with ADD. I tell you what, if I didn't know that they are paid actors, I would almost swear up and down that they have classic ACUTE cases of UNTREATED Asperger's with the autism, well out-of control!!! You can ask my husband, when they get so out of control with their arguing and everything, I'll shout at them and call them a bunch of Aspies. (Short for Asperger's Syndrome). My husband and I haven't been married but a very short time, and he gets a BIG KICK out of me yelling and calling them that! LOLOLOL

Now, of those who watch that show, I'm wondering how many of ya'll would agree with me??? LOL =DDD

Thanks for letting me share a FUN window on my world! -EJ =DDD
