Questions & Comments
Native American ceremonial dancing belt. Meant to tie in the back. Bead work and fringe are both practical and decorative. Beautiful reproduction. Thanks for listing.
Everyone should READ all of her comments.... she has stated several time that this is NOT AUTHENTIC!!!! This is a locally made item by a NON NATIVE AMERICAN. She s not trying to deceive anyone. Just read. This is a great reproduction. A great auction. :-D
Hello, and to all it's just one really nice piece of art work done by a local artist. Good luck Vqbone. Next person who asks if it's authentic should be told to read comments. LOL Have a wonderful evening.
Wow it's gorgeous! It's most likely a reproduction but still pretty. I love Native American stuff since I'm half Cherokee. Great grandparents were Shaman practitioners. Grandparents are/were spiritual healers. Grandmother is still alive and is teaching me the ways.
You are so lucky to know your heritage. I think the native Americans had an amazing life and wish there were more of them. The men were men and the women were beautiful, I am sure the ones left are still amazing. Thanks for commenting. If you are bidding good luck!
So, this loin belt is a part of the regalia that a native dancer would wear. Normally it would have stayed in the family if the dancer passes on. Most of the dancers make their own regalia and will put years into it before they ever enter into dance competition at a pow wow. The colors and patterns indicate it is from a planes people.
Beautiful reproduction of this supposed Native American belt!!! Are there markings on the back of this piece. There are so many forgeries on the market, especially from the Japanese and those from Hong Kong. If it is indeed indeed an authentic reproductioon and it is Native American, then what is the Tribe to which it belongs?
