Few artists start their careers so early, but Bryan Hitch burst onto the comic scene in 1987 at age sixteen, drawing such Marvel UK titles as Action Force and Transformers! he worked briefly for Marvel's American side on She-Hulk, then went to DC for titles such as Adventures of Superman, before returning to Marvel's UK set. There, he worked under editor-in-chief Paul Neary on titles such as Hell's Angel, Death's Head. , and Knights of Pendragon; their friendship and work partnership continues to this day, with Neary often inking Hitch's pencils. Following work on US Marvel's X-Men books, Hitch found his career blossoming when he worked with Warren Ellis on Wildstorm's Stormwatch, then co-created the ultra-popular The Authority. "Hitchy" (as he's known to friends) followed up his bravura work there with a Justice League "widescreen" treasury, then co-created The Ultimates series at Marvel. For that series and Authority, he won numerous comic industry awards, including several Eagle awards, a Wizard fan award and SFX reader awards. Recently, he worked on the new Doctor Who TV series as a concept designer, giving form to the main Tardis set and the new Daleks.
