He's doing alright. Thanks for asking. He had surgery on Wed (for something else) he tore his Rotator Cuff and his BiCep at work. They were able to fix the BiCep but not the rotator cuff so he's in a sling. But he's doing a lot on his own and the rest I help him with. Good luck on your surgery. Always....yeah I think he's just starting to realize how lucky he is. LOL we've been together 26 years...so you know sometimes you take advantage of each other not meaning to but it happens. He's been there for my surgeries so it's my turn to be there for him. He's lucky in that my sister, Sharon, my niece, Amber and my Dad are also here so if I'm not able to help him one of them steps up. We're very lucky that way.

You really are a fortunate family. It's just myself and Bella (12 yrs) here at home, with Jason an hour and a half away at Clemson. I do have my stepdad about 7 miles away, who I am pretty close to (he will take me to surgery), but I hate to ask for help. I'll be on my own afterwards, just because I'm stubborn, lol. Mom, my best friend and buddygirl, passed away about 6 years ago at just 64 yrs old. I moved to this area (down South) to be closer to her about 10 years ago. I'm an only child. Dad died 11 years ago at 59yrs (suicide). All the rest of my rather large family lives in Upstate NY, where I am from. I'd love to go back and I would have a huge support network in family, but the kids are thriving here and I don't want to uproot Bella. Plus, we get to see Jason often by living here. I would not be able to handle if I couldn't see him often- we see him about every-other weekend and it kills me waiting in-between, lol. I may end up going back home one day, but right now.. it's just easiest on kids and I to stay put. I miss my family terribly though, especially around the Holidays. It just isn't the same. Ah well. Gotta make some sacrifices to make bigger gains, right? My babies will be all the greater for it later. And as long as they are all good, I am perfectly happy. :)

Sounds like you have a pretty good system yourself. Bella might only be 12 but I'm sure she's a strong girl like her Momma. My daughter was very independent at that age and she's a very strong independent woman now. The rest of my family is only 20 mins away Dave's is all over the furtherest is his brother in Ohio the rest are in PA.

I love you Donna, you are always so positive and optimistic. I generally am too, but once in a while I can get to feeling sorry for myself lol. Just being down South here, all alone. Yes, Bella is incredibly capable and independent. Thank goodness. Perhaps too much so, for just being 12. But it seems like most kids are a little grown for their age today. I might be old-school, but I think in this day of instant information and the internet, they might get too much information, too fast. I am sure you'll agree, we as moms just want to keep them young and innocent for as long as possible. They will grow up soon enough and have all the grown up responsibilities. She's a real good girl, but in today's world.. I can't help but worry. There is so much to worry about. She will be fine tho, I do know this. But I will still worry. And then worry some more, lol. Xo

Thanks...I love you too!! I have my good points...LOL I'm glad that when my kids were young there was no internet...only for my youngest but he was like a junior in high school and he was a gamer. Know they can take it or leave it. Your always going to worry no matter how old they are. I do and they are in their very early 30's and my niece is 23 and we worry about her too. That's the Mom in us. xoxo
