What disturbed me was not so much that they were killing each other bc in life you are sometimes faced with that decision but more the fact that the ppl of the Capitol saw it as entertainment. They treated it like they were watching dancing with the stars instead of oh these ppl are going to die. I guess the older I've gotten and the fact that I've lost at least 20 ppl in my life...death is an emotional topic for me. I'm also(most likely bc I'm poor) disgusted with the type of rich ppl/higher society that think they are better than u bc they have more money. Like lower class is insignificant to them. I congratulate rich ppl who have earned their fortune through hard work and may live the lifestyle but still remember what it was like to have nothing. It's been done throughout history...plantation owners who saw black ppl only as slaves, the white man who took away the land and killed the Native Americans, and even when the Irish came over and were treated poorly bc everyone saw them as worthless. That's how I felt the ppl in the Capitol were like. They seem to never put themselves in the ppl of the districts shoes. How would they like it if every year their child was forced to stand in a line and may or may not have a death sentence? And also, the ppl of the district rebelled what like 75 yrs ago??? Someone needs to get over that grudge!
