Is it true it can take up to 2 years before these bloom

I'd never heard that before, so I can't say it isn't true. However, mine bloomed the first year. But thinking about it, I suppose if you don't cold stratify it (either naturally in cold weather, or in the fridge) before planting, it could take over a year, depending on the weather.
