Correct it wasnt changed until am3+ came out late last year. I had this in a test rig in an old Asus deluxe with 4 sticks of ddr2 ran great as a test bench.
Thanks that is true and to clear up confusion Yes that is true but the pin out on AM2+ does not fit either they are pinned differently and need to be modded to fit, also the AM2 series were not designed to run DDR3 memory as I have put this in a msi motherboard with am3 socket to test it. It does not work in an am3 socket it did work in the AM2+ socket.There are memory conflicting in the chips it needs ddr2 memory.
yes thats right.. i should have included that info too. am2+ cpu will work in a am3 motherboard but only if it has ddr2 ram installed with it. this cpu however requires a am2 socket motherboard. will work with am2+ motherboard but not am3 socket.
