Up for bids: A cool & collectible $5 United States Note (USN) from Series 1963.
You get the exact bill shown: A11804967A
Once upon a time in our country, as recent as the 1950's, there were THREE forms of paper currency:
Green Seal Federal Reserve Notes (What we use to this day)
Blue Seal Silver Certificates (1957b was the last series)
Red Seal United States Notes (these were called "Legal Tender notes in the 1800's and into the early 1900's).
Most folks aren't familiar with the 3rd type, the USN/LT notes. They are often mistaken for Silver Certificates but clearly bear the term "United States Note" above the presidential portrait, have a Red Seal and Red Serial Numbers (where as a Silver Certificate has a Blue Seal and Blue Serial Numbers in most cases). In the small size notes, the size we have today, they were printed in $2's and $5's for series 1928, 1953 and 1963.
They're very collectible and I see LESS of these than Silver Certificates!
