Hi Brooklyns. The reason why the bidding is so high is that according to the guide to barber dimes, the 1915 is one of the lowest in mintage with 5,620,000 compared to the 1914- 17,360,230 or the 1911-18.870,000.
Also the Listia people saw the value to feature this coin. Good luck to all.

Hi. It depends on which coin. There were no dimes issued in 1922. Mintage can dictate the scarcity and value of a coin.

More facts: The barber dime were minted from 1892-1916. The 1915 is the lowest minted from 1900-1916. You would have to go back to 1895 to get a lower mintage.(this excludes the O's and S's which are expensive and hard to find).

1915 is not a key/ semi key date neither rare nor low mintage, but it is worth whatever people are willing to pay i guess. not quite F-12 probably around vg-6-8.

Hi skaskankerbr. I do not grade my coin auctions. I take photo's for our members to see and bid . The 1915 coin does have a lower mintage than any barber dime minted from 1900-1916( excludes the O and S mint mark ). Thanks for the vg-6-8 grading you feel it is. Thanks for your comment.

A 1922 silver dollar will do well. The 1922 peace dollar depending on condition runs anywhere from $ 8-$20.
