You can’t convert credits you bought. You will have to spend them on Listia as credits. And yes. It is idiotic because once spent, those credits are earned by someone else and can be converted by that seller.

Trust me. I pointed this out to Listia quite some time ago but then other issues became more pressing for me. You can only fight one battle at a time with Listia. I’ve already been branded as something of a crackpot I’m sure because I HaVE pointed these things out to them.

So don’t buy any credits. I’ve always told people that because you get a lot more credits for your money if you list a gift card. Tomorrow is the last day to buy credits anyway.

Yes. Do that when you can really focus. The security protocols are kind of intimidating. Just be really careful and follow all the instructions carefully. You must set it up on the computer you will use. Keep that in mind.

Yup ... if you have any coin in coinbase you can send it to MEW once you have that set up ... BUT you WILL pay fees. So it usually isn't worth sending tiny amounts between wallets. Wait until you have a reason to send ETH and send at least $100 worth ... I think the fee for that might only be about $1, like 1 percent, but you might also pay $1 if you send $5 ... I'm really not sure but watch those fees. They are small but will add up.

As soon as INK hits I'm going to experiment with sending INK to my MEW and then swapping it for MEW ... but

PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT until you get the CONTRACT ADDRESS for INK from LIstia. Your ink will simply GO AWAY if you make a mistake!

MEW is a web site based wallet. Meta mask is a google extension you have to download. If you check the MEW site it strongly warns people to use meta mask or several other options. I use meta mask and it seems to work well.

Keep in mind that you can’t use MEW on both a phone and computer. You have to set up your private keys on one device only. As far as I can tell you gotta stick to either your computer or a web site on your phone. Not sure MEW has an app. But correct me if you are wrong.

Not sure you need to post any links. Just look up MEW which stands for My Ether Wallet. Be sure to carefully follow the instructions. Take your time. Be careful please.

The question was: should I convert my credits right away?
My advice is to convert any credits you have. Then as your listings end winning bidders can pay in credits OR ink. If you get any credits that way convert them too.

It doesn’t really matter if you convert your credits right away because Listia will hold the same price for credit conversions into the future.

But ink is simply more valuable than credits. Going forward prices will change on Listia based on the value of ink. So it will be better to have ink to spend.

That is calculated by the price paid by the presale buyers. After that profit and loss will be determined by how much the value of the coin goes up and down. And how much you've spent on items you've sold. At the start credits converted to INK will be considered an even trade.

It's a good question. Listia will have to provide some guidance on that for listia's members. It will probably just be a schedule c exercise.

We CAN cash out INK ... you will have to transfer it to an outside ETH wallet that is ERC/20 compliant (like MEW) and exchange it for ETH / BTC or other coin, and then cash it out using something like coinbase. Trust me, I plan to experiment on DAY ONE and will figure it out ... fees will be involved in each leg. They are small fees but usually if you are moving more than say $100 around, the fees are maybe 1 or 2 percent.

So it won't be automatic on LIstia ... HOWEVER Listia DOES plan to eventually provide that capability with the INK wallet. I asked during the AMA and they could not give a timeline, but if they want the INK wallet to earn widespread usage as a selling tool, I think it is something they will have to do ... I'm hoping within the next year.

Awesome auction i am seeing more of a variety of items listed on listia now which is great and hope i am not dispointed when XNK come out and prices sky rocket again thats what worrying me. I hope listia can explain more about cashing out and the details and how easy it is to cash out.People are saving their credits to convert to XNK but when that convert i hope the selling process is not difficult of prices might go back up. During the first AMA, Gee said that Listia plans to eliminate feedback for BUYERS... please don't do that! We get some REALLY BAD buyers on Listia (and I'm sure everywhere in the ether). I think it's important for BUYER feedback to remain in place to WARN sellers of people who will not, for example. confirm receipt of an item, or who SCAM for a refund. This also will be true for places like craigslist ... a BAD buyer on that site can be life-threatening, literally. I HOPE that the INK Protocol will continue to offer BUYER as well as SELLER feedback!

In the previous AMA, they said that eventually the INK app will let people convert INK to fiat. My understanding is that this is NOT available immediately. Do you know how long this might take and what the fee structure might be?

For people on LIstia, cashing out ~ if only to pay for shipping ~ will be essential. I think that will be essential for buying/selling in ANY venue and would make INK MUCH more attractive as a tool for online sellers ... so I'm hoping that happens sooner than later!

~Listia has said members can convert credits to INK "for the duration" of the conversion. Do you have a deadline in mind? What about credits that exist in long-dormant accounts ... will they eventually be converted?
~THIS IS IMPORTANT: Is LIstia changing the escrow/mediation system for digital items? It is a NIGHTMARE to win a crypto or electronic gift-code listing and have to WAIT three days to request a refund ... then FIVE more days for Listia to refund the credits. Is Listia considering changes to that system for ditigal-delivery items? I suggest 24 hours to deliver or refund request can be initiated THEN ... not in three days. The issue is that digital-delivered items can CHANGE a LOT in three to eight days ... such as crypto currency. These types of listings may become MUCH more prevalent AND attract scams. It would be better to resolve them FAST, in my opinion ... the current system is MUCH too slow!

Will LIstia upgrade it's verification system? It would be NICE to know if someone you are dealing with is an adult with, say a driver's license ... as opposed to a teenager (or younger child) or a wayward scammer from Timbuktu. I SUGGEST that Listia provide some sort of "verification scale" so that buyers and sellers can CHOOSE to only deal with people who can prove they are adults and/or from this planet.

~People are REALLY confused about the $1 credits = $1 INK ... they have seen numbers like 7,500 and believe that is for 1 ETH ... they believe ETH and INK are the same ... etc. PLEASE make it CLEAR that on LIstia, the BIG number to remember is 3,850 credits = 1 INK ...
~ I understand that to "cash out" ink Listia members will need to send INk to an Ethereum wallet that handles ERC20 tokens, and THEN convert it to ETH/BTC/LTC etc to cash it out. Do I have this correct? Will LIstia offer HELP to members in safely setting up wallets and sending INK to them?
~Will Listia change the structure of the site? Someone asked me today if they will still be able to use features like Get it Now. I replied that I did not think Listia would change much about how the site works, but if you WILL make changes ... please explain them in the AMA!

You can convert your credits to INK ... or you can keep your credits and spend them. Once your credits are spent, any added credits you earn will be paid to you in INK. And all listings will be priced in INK.

I recommend you convert your credits to INK ... this will be much easier in the long run. Keep in mind that you ~CANNOT~ convert any credits you buy from Listia. After Feb. 28 you CANNOT buy credits from Listia!

You CAN buy INK from LIstia but it will be priced at the MARKET price. Exchanging credits is most likely the LEAST expensive way to have INK to spend on Listia.

Not sure that will happen but the value of ink certainly could go up. Which will bring prices down because ink is with more.

On Listia the price of ink will hold while people spend the remaining credits. Then prices on Listia will reflect actual $$$ values but in ink instead of cash.

In the meantime the value of ink on the open market will be going up~ most likely~ at least at first. So here on Listia we will still be paying the original price ($.14) while people trading on the exchanges likely will be paying more.

After that conversion period prices on Listia will be based on the value of ink. So for the conversion period Listia users are getting a SMOKIN’ deal on ink.

Dust off your calculator because your gonna need it.

It’s very simple math. Everyone on Listia is accustomed to calculating in credits. You just gotta start thinking in ink instead of credits.

It will become more natural to think in ink in a short time I think.
