This is a Camp style knife made by my husband, Quinn !! The blade is 4" long and the overall length is 9". The blade was made from a bar of 5/8" round stock - mild steel. Mild steel isn't normally used to make knives, but this has been quenched/hardened in water and will hold an edge for general purpose. Typically, mild steel will only hold an edge for a short time, but you can re-sharpen over and over again.
This knife can also be used as a decorative piece. It was forged in fire by hand (see photos). It took about 2 hours of work to make this piece. You can see the 5/8" round stock that it was before it went into the forge.
