The listing, Vintage Tennessee Souvenir Guitar has ended.

I have no idea how old this guitar is. It is marked JAPAN on the back so it's probably from the 1940's or 50's. It measures 8-1/2 inches long and 3-3/8 inches at the widest point. I don't know what type metal it is made of, but it is rather heavy and doesn't appear to be attracted to a magnet. Maybe brass or copper, or a combination of metals. The thermometer on it seems accurate. I bought it several years ago at a local thrift store because I thought it was so pretty and unique. I can't find any information about it on the internet. I will notify the winner of the auction after it is the mail, and I try to mail within two days after my auction ends. I will mail only to the shipping address provided on Listia. It is metal, that is a woodgrain design engraved on the front. I asked my son if it might be bronze, but he thinks it's copper. I really don't know. But it for sure is metal. Thank you for inquiring and for fanning me back.

Before I posted this on Listia, I searched the internet for another like it or at least some information on it, but I could not find anything. Tonight I decided to try again. I was finally led to goantiques.com. In their search area I typed in guitar, and on page 19 they have one listed for 45.00 plus shipping. The only thing I saw different was theirs had an eagle where this one has mountains. And I couldn't tell whether or not it said Tennessee on the front or JAPAN on the back. The photos were not real clear. I knew there was something about this guitar. I liked it from the minute I saw it in the thrift store. But oh well, I will learn to listen to my instincts someday.
